So I need to ease my mind. FTM. Please answer.

So I know it is healthy for our baby to have hiccups but I have also read that if your baby gets hiccups to often it means they arent getting enough air thru the cord. Ever since I read that I have tracked her hiccups and for the past 2 days she has gotten the hiccups 3 times every day. Is this normal? Im very scared at this point....

I'm pretty sure my baby hiccups more than he moves lately. I read the same information and brought it up with my Dr at an appt. She said it wasn't like that at all, he's just practicing which is a really good thing.

Its fine. And thank You so much!! I get worried about our baby girl so much. I knew hiccups was a good sign but when I read that I got so scared because every time I go to the doctors they say she is healthy and everything sounds normal so I thought that something changed since she is getting bigger. But thank you so much :)

Yeah you and me both! I scare myself all the time and this scared me too cause I'd never heard it! I just read up some more though and I saw what you described but you'll be relieved to know it is very rare for hiccups to be anything bad (like what you were talking about which is called cord compression) and that three times a day for 10-40 minutes is actually really common, and most of the time just a reflex action in the diaphragm that actually is good for the baby because it strengthens the muscle used for breathing once baby is born. (: I worry over all the possibilities too, but the best thing mommies like us can do is try and relax and not read so much into worst case scenarios.

Ok thank you. I have anxiety attacks and it scares me when I read stuff like that. I cant read pamphlets and stuff that they give you at the doctors lol

My baby gets hiccups quite a bit, and I've never read that. Everywhere I've read it says hiccups aren't bothersome to the baby, it's just their way of practicing those movements like sucking and crying. I'll look it up again though, but honestly I don't believe it's a big deal so don't worry.
