If you are being monitored in the hospital, can't they keep him in as long as possible but under close supervision to make sure he's ok. It will be best for him - there is no better place for him than in your womb. Are you able to request he is not c-sectioned at this stage? What are their reasons to c-section now? If they thought he wouldn't make it past 20 weeks, and he's still fine at 28 weeks, who's to say they aren't wrong again? Like Lance said, baby may have lung/ breathing problems (and later in life) if he is delivered so early, so should be put off as long as possible I think.
AWw..I am so glad that he is doing better!!! well, best of luck with everything.I would imagine that things are going to be tough for awhile.....so hang in there and keep us updated!!!
to Lance, yes, that's why they're doing the c-section. I've had complications with the pregnancy since day one pretty much. They told me he wouldn't make it past 20 weeks, but I'm 28, so he's doing a lot better then they thought.
I dont know why they plan on a c-section at 32 weeks because that is too early. The baby's lungs may not be developed enough and most likely baby will have to stay in the NICU for awhile. Are they giving you a c-section because it is in the best interest of the baby because of other complications?
and i think they don't think he'll change positions, because I've had 1-4cm of fluid since 20 weeks, so they don't think he'll have enough room to change positions, but anything can happen
Yeah im at the hospital right now, i've been here for a month now.
Why'd they use a speculum? Usually in later pregnancy they just use their fingers to feel for dilation.
Dilation can occur weeks and weeks before you actually go into labor. It is not any indication that you will give birth soon.
Also, baby still has PLENTY of time to turn head-down.
Do they have you on bedrest for contractions/bleeding?
