Well I just found my bmi to be 36.4 the doctors never said anything about it well ill ask them at my check up tomorrow
Idk my BMI but you're a good mommy since you quit all of that why do they have to be so negative and not tell you you're doing good your baby will be fine just keep doing what you're doing and you can maybe do a few exercises like walk idk if you can do squats while pregnant im a ftm so im just guessing but trying to help :-) how do you find out your bmi im 5'5? Im 19+3
They said I was too under weight and said if I didn't gain weight or the baby didn't gain weight they were going to take him away from me. I'd like to see them try for such a ignorant reason.
Stand up to her and see what happens . Legally she can't refuse you or not treat you properly because of something happened it could fall on her and be negligence. Doctors feel they have the right to make you feel craps about yourself when most of the time they aren't the picture of perfect health I've seen plenty of doctors smoking plenty over weight doctors and plenty that just font take care of themselves . With any luck of you stand up for yourself she might take it to heart and refer you to another doctor
Just ignore ur doctor, my sister was overweight she has two healthy boys. Sometimes people gain weight for a reason and no one needs to know details but they shouldn't bring down a person because of their weight. Docotr should be more concerned about baby's health and developing and just make sure nothing will harm u.
Ceri, you make a great point, you simply cannot do right for doing wrong. We're all either to fat or to thin.
Its unbelievable. Maybe they should realise the extra stress their putting on pregnant women. Urgh.
My bmi was 17 when I was 12 weeks, and they put me on consultant led care and I have to have 4 weekly scans, i wasn't underweight I'm just tall! And now I'm 34 weeks she's said I've put on more weight than usual...I'm in Wales so the systems the same...as long as you know you're being healthy just try to ignore it, and if they bring it up just remind them you can't diet when pregnant !
Im glad you solved your problem :)
I'm from Scotland and we get free healthcare, which ofcourse is great and I'm very thankful for, but you pretty much get the doctor you're given and thats it really and it seems to be nearly every doctor I've seen lol.
My doctor always made me feel bad too. My BMI is also 40. I felt like she was super mean about it. Our pregnancy was also a happy accident. And she was always so concerned with my weight I didn't feel she paid attention to my baby. So I got a new doctor. No problem since lol
