ULTRASOUND @ 8WEEKS???

I'm scheduled for my first u/s at 8 weeks. This is my 3rd pregnancy but I had to wait until 18-20 weeks to get my first ultrasound sound which was to determine the sex. This pregnancy. I an getting prenatal care elsewhere. My question is what exactly is going to be done in this ultrasound at 8 weeks? Will I be able to hear my baby's heart beat and will I be getting pics to take home?

This is my first prenatal visit at a new office different than where I was getting prenatal care with my first two pregnancies. That's why I was confused as far as what I should at this ultrasound appointment so early in pregnancy because I never had one done this early at my old Doc's office.

You get listen to the heart beat and this would have been your first pre natal visit if you weren't going else where

You should be able to hear ir or at least see it. Every time I've had an ultrasound i received at least one pic so I assume you would get one too
