preterm labor

So im extremely nervous. Im only 25 weeks pregnant, and yesterday went to L&D because i felt like i was being stabbed in the stomach and having lower back pain. Turned out im 50%in effaced, my cervix is shortened, but im not dialted. Im currently sitting in the hospital and they are doing everything they can to stop the contractions. I just wanted to know what my babys chances of survival are? They are talking about giving me steroid shots to strengthen up his lungs...im really scared for my little kicker:(

I'm sooo sorry you are going through this. I went into labor at 24 weeks and had my daughter at 28 weeks. She is healthy and no medical problems. I had the shots too. Whatever they tell you to do just stick it out. I was dialtef to 2 cm at 24 weeks. Its good that your not dialated yet. If they give you magnesium its probably gonna make you nauseous and loopy but its a good medication. Sending many prayers your way. Please keep us updated.

it all depends on the babies lungs but babies usually survive after 24 weeks
