Taking your premie out of the house!!

I was due December 28 but my son decided to come out November 14. He was 5 pounds 6.4oz and is now just over 6 pounds. He spent 14 days in the NICU and is now home. He's just over 2 weeks old. From the hospital and even my pediatrician hasn't given me an exact answer as to how long I have to keep him in the house. I know to stay away from sick people, people have to sanitize or wash their hands first and avoid kids especially sick ones. But I want to eventually take my son to the park, the store, the mall etc. any mommies of premies have advice on this. I've read moms keep baby inside for like 3 months! I don't want that but I want to be safe.

My son was born at 35weeks and weighed 4lb 7oz. He stayed 6days in the nicu. I didn't take him out in public till after he got his 2month shots. But i was also paranoid. He was born during the swine flu epidemic back in 2009 so i was extra cautious.
