ok 10 doesnt sound so bad... the fact that you have to be there by 2 sounds a little easier... if you were sitting at home then that would be harder not to eat.... hopefully the day will go by fast! and just think your gonna meet you little one!!!

I know what you mean it feels like forever going without food. I rushed to the hospital at 6am when i was in labor and it'd already been awhile since i had eaten. I didn't have her til 6pm and was starving it felt like. Lol i didn't have anything to eat for 17 hours! Needless to say though i didn't eat anything i had a bad reaction to a medication and ended up going in and out of consciousness and throwing up at the same time. I didn't have much to throw up.. but I'm sure it would of been worse if i had eaten.

The probably recommend you don't eat because some women end up having to be put tto sleep and they always recommend you don't eat if you're going to have to be put to sleep

and maybe they would even allow a small meal 8 hours prior....really its worth asking... but i mean a light small meal.... like liquid meal or something that digests easy.... worth asking about.... but you need to be completely honest with them tho.... dont cheat, its seriousy for your safety

awwww thats late in the day :( ya no fluids either, its really important that your stomach is empty so that there is less chance of you aspirating which can lead to serious complications..... because yours is so late in the day id ask when you can eat last and when you have to stop drinking for sure(which obviously they will tell you but make sure to talk about you concerns).... maybe they would allow fluids till 8 hours prior, and food for 12 hours prior... but dont eat a huge "last meal" tho thats defeats the purpose of fasting as well... thats crazy that its booked that late in the day! you will probably go in a couple hours earlier or so so hopefully they will start the IV as soon as possible and that should help for both...  i feel better about my time now lol well kinda

Yeah I remember being sooooo hungry durin labor....I tried to hold off but after 8 hrs I felt like I was gonna die of starvation.lol so I went against Dr orders and ate thr biggest Cheesesteak Ever. Less then a half hour later I was pushing baby out and throwin up at the same time. What a mess!!!!! They worked hard for their money that day. Smh

I think the excitement of baby arriving should be enough to get ya thru not eating or drinking before hand(its only temporary)and its really important not to eat or drink prior, when you get there youll be hooked up to IV and your body will get fluids from that, my concern isnt eating, its being thirsty so im gonna have the humidifyer going the night before and make sure for the few days before that im really rehydrating my body with lots of water... my csection isnt till 1130am so its gonna be a long time without water! but again.... only temporary and worth it!

I didn't have a c section but i wasn't allowed to eat while i was in labor either. I believe they dont let you eat before your c section because the medication can make you nauseous and it could make you throw up if you have eaten.
