WAY off topic- Just need to vent

I know this is horribly off topic, but my dog hurt his back really badly over the weekend, and I'm really worried about him and needed to vent to someone!  He's gotten a herniated disc in his spine twice before, once about a year and a half ago, and then again about a year ago.  Both times, he lost partial use of his back left leg.  Well, on Friday I came home from work, and he wasn't able to use his back leg very well, so I'm thinking he hurt his back somehow during the day. It didnt' seem to bad though, and I gave him some baby aspirin, and within a few hours he seemed fine. Then, yesterday, both of my dogs had a scheduled vet appointment. Rascal went to greet someone, and jumped up a little ( I try to keep him from jumping, but I didn't get to him fast enough yesterday). When he came down on his hind legs, he slipped on the floor and landed on his back/side.  He seemed fine. The vet even looked at his back and said he seemed to be ok.  Then, last night, a few hours later, he wouldn't walk.  He just stood in the middle of the room with his ears back, and he was panting and shaking all over.  When I tried to get him to walk, he took about 2 minutes just to go 10 feet.  I finally got him to sit down on his doggy bed, and got him some aspirin.  He still seemed to be in pain about 2 hours later. He just sat there, with his body really stiff, and shook and panted.  He would jump if I tried to touch him anywhere on his back.  This morning he seemed to be better, but I'm still worried about him.  I had to come to work because the county is expecting so many teachers to be out that there aren't enough subs.  So all I'm thinking about today is how I hope he's not in pain at home without me there :-(

Sorry about the off topic post....I just needed to get it off my chest.  Thanks guys

I'd take him back to the vet...it doesn't sound okay...perhaps an xray would be best...Good luck!

are you sure that its ok for him to take aspirin?  Never ever give him advil, it could give him kidney failure.
I would take him to the vet right away, that does not seem normal.

Thanks Laura.  He seems to do pretty well with the aspirin, but I'm going to see how he is when I get home from work tonight.  I hate seeing him in so much pain, and what's worse, is that its likely to happen again, since he disc he herniated is weak now that its happened twice :-(
