Telling about pregnancy in interview

I applied for a job a few months ago, before I got pregnant. I just got a call from them today and have an interview on Friday. Should I tell them at the interview that I'm pregnant? I'm now a little over 8 weeks and will be telling people soon anyway, so they would find out if I get the job.

If the job would affect your pregnancy in any way then tell them (such as heavy lifting, etc.). If it isn't going to affect your pregnancy (such as a desk job) then it really isn't their business and would be against the law for them to refuse you a job based on whether you are pregnant or not. Because you don't want to be refused based on discrimination and because any personal information is not required at an interview (they're not even allowed to ask if you have children; if they do you can refuse to answer) I wouldn't mention it. Get the job and worry about all that later.

I agree with Joy.  Unless it's a job that would affect the pregnancy.  Don't tell them.  If the job is offered to you THEN let them know.  Once they offer employment and you accept they cannot renig and refuse you employment based on your situation.

I wouldn't tell them. I got a job and literally found out the day before training that I was pregnant. I didn't say anything at all. They figured out for themselves at 5 months and we never even bothered to talk about it.

I wouldn't tell them until you start showing. I told my previous employer when I was 5 months preggo.

Thanks for the responses! I am going to wait. I talked about with my husband last night and we decided together that I shouldn't.

I agree with everyone. Wait till after 12 weeks if you get the job. Good luck with the interview.

I wouldn't mention it until after 12 weeks tinamous discrimination and also because after the first trimester the risks are much lower. Not to sound cynical but no point in telling them and then something happens.

i'm not sure what it's like where you are, but here in Australia you dont have to tell your employer till you ar 12 weeks.

I agree with Joy, i wouldnt say anything till you need to. I am now 9 weeks 2 days and i still havent told my employer.

Good Luck with the interview
