Took the 27 week gestational diabetes test..

So i had to do the test where you drink that nasty drink that makes your blood sugar go up and they draw your blood and my results come back high and its a possibility i could have gestational diabetes and i dont even know what that is and i have to go in next week for more testing and to be honest im pretty scared and worried../:

You probably failed because of what you ate. You're only supposed to eat meat before the test, (bacon, eggs, sausage). Cereal and milk will turn into sugar. I had diabetes with my first son starting in my first trimester, and i somehow didnt get it with this pregnancy. If you do test positive for it, it isn't back. You have to watch what you eat.

I Have grstational diabetes... And honestly it *****, but if u think how ur helping ur baby by eating healthy and sticking to food guidelines and blood levels, then that helps a lot. And it will go away.
I wasn't aloud to eat anything for before my test, only drink water.  I drank the drink, had bloods done 1hr later, then 2hrs later.

CANT WAIT TO EAT A BIG SLICE OF MUD CAKE!!!!!!

I failed the first test with my son but passed the three hour one. :0) the 3 hour one is a lot more blood work and a lot longer but I hope you pass this second time. Just don't eat anything this next time you do it.

Well the first test is just you drink the drink and one hour later they draw your blood and the drink is just like really sugary flat orange soda & then if you fail that test you have to do a second one which is 3 hour.

I haven't done mine yet but my dr said on my next visit, which is next week, that she would order the lab work for it. I'm dreading it. The nasty drink sounds awful and I don't want to have to sit I. The lab for several hours while I wait to have my blood drawn again. Yuck.

If you failed the one hour test then you will have to go back for a three hours one. And you will have to fast for it. No food or drink pass midnight before test. Bring a book to read and some snack for right after you're done.
I failed my 1-hr but pass my 3-hr one so don't worry. Good luck.
