doubling hcg level but u/s reveals no baby im lost?

Last friday03/05/10 had a D&c Done .this wednesday 03/10/10 hcg level was 204(yeah) dt called(03/11/10 states that it could be a possible tubal pregnancy (no) went to hopital 03/11/10 hcg level were 297(yeah) they did a u/s for like 20 mintues didnt see baby in uterus or tubes . went back to dt 03/12/10 for my results from d &C no baby was found my dt was being a real butt he was like dont think you are pregnant in the uterus inmy head im like im prego in the uterus thinking positive he then ordered a mri of the pelvic area but insurance company was closed and hopital needed a authorization code so went thru emergency to bypass the code told the er dt my story and she was like its possible that you could be pregnant in the uterus but not enough hcg yet to tell so she ordered the hcg test it came back to be 419(yeah) so she told me to follow up on tuesday to check my levels hopefully they will be high and if so my dt should do a u/s hoping the baby will show please baby show!!!! now what should i do i need to know the waiting game is so not my thing

I am also kind of confused.  Why did you have the D&C done?  It sounds like your numbers are going up which sounds like pregnancy to me.  You can't see anything on ultrasound until after your numbers are between 1000-1500.  Even then it has to be a vaginal ultrasound.  You won't see anything except a black dot in the uterus as well.  I just had one done at 4w 4d and my numbers were around 4000 and all I could see was the gestational sac and possibly the beginning of a yolk sac so I would say the ultrasound was just too early.  Are they going to keep checking your hcg levels to make sure they are going up?  Hope everything works ok for you.

why did you have a D&C done if you were not pregnant? and if you were pregnant usually a D&C would clear anything out, they usually do those after a miscarriage, I am confused by part of what you were saying. your levels going up like that do definitly sound like you are pregnant and if it is early they might not be able to see the baby yet! did they even see a sac yet? Hi. I'm sorry that you're going through this. I know it's very stressful. How far along do you think you are. If you're earlier than six weeks then that could be why you can't see the baby during the ultrasound.
