Age dont really matter they say once you hit 35 then may take longer,as we dont produce as many eggs.for men there is no problem as they will be able to produce sperm any age, hence old men fathering children,im 36 and my husband is 45,we are currently 16 and half weeks pregnant.took us many years but we had other issues.are you using ovulation tests this would be a good start as well as charting your temp.your likely to o around day 21,but just to be sure start bedding around cycle day 19.this is from day 1 of your period.they also say for women of our age,if no pregnancy after 6 months then to talk to doctor, they will run some tests, just to check your both ok,9 months isnt along time reallyall about the timing.best of luck.

have either of you been checked for fertility problems?  have you tried using OPK's to see if you are ovulating?  i have been ttc for 25 months and i know how you feel but a normal healthy couple can take 1month to 2 years to conceive.  Best of luck to you!!
