early pregnancy, should i find a different job?

I just found out today that I am pregnant! :) not sure how far along I am yet. My job requires me to do a lot of heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling (I'm a cna). I'm worried that the stress and strain on my body isn't good for me or the baby or won't be when I'm further along. There is really no way to get around having to do the heavy lifting at my job. Should I consider finding another job that doesn't require such extreme hard work and is easier on my body?

Generally the doctors recommend no heavy lifting but it all depends on the person.  If your body is used to doing this work, it probably can handle the strain better... I would talk to your OB about it and see what they recommend.

I am a cna as well and work in a very full, very under staffed nursing home. I was worried about the heavy lifting and what not as well but I am now 9wks 2ds and have had no spotting or cramping so I don't think the heavy lifting and fast pace has affected my baby at all. I don't go to see my ob until the 23rd but i feel as if everything is going just perfect with my pregnancy. I have also known 3 girls that have worked where I do through their entire pregnancy with no problems. I really wouldnt stress about it too much!
