For those with baby girls

Today I was changing her diaper and there was a little bit of a pinkish red spot in her diaper.. it was smaller than a dime.. she then went pee as i put the new diaper on and some orangish pink fluid came out.. I did call a nurse and she said this is normal for baby girls in the first week of life but if it happens more than 3-4 times take her to get checked out or if it happens after 7 days ...

just looking to here if anyone else experienced this.. for now we are just monitoring the situation and i am ready to seek medical advice.. She does not have a fever, is eating great and sleeping well...

I don't have any girls but my sister in law had the same concern it's something about her hormones coming down from the pregnancy hormones and is very common. It should even out within a few days.

Yeah, Lexi did that. its totally normal and caused by our hormones. But if it persists its a good idea to let the ped know.

Same here. It only happened once or twice. I was told also that it has something do with hormone withdrawal.

Yes totally normal. I freaked when I saw it with my lo because never saw that with my boys!! Lol but if it continues get it checked.

I was told this would be normal too. It didn't occur with my Kahlan, but I was warned it might and asked a lot of questions "just in case". It has something to do with the mother's hormones leaving the body; it can cause vaginal spotting, vaginal swelling (which can sometimes apparently cause the opening to the bladder to be irritated and spot as well).

I would agree that if it continues or increases in frequency get it checked out ASAP, but it normally should disappear as the last of your hormones are urinated/pooped out and her own levels begin to settle.
