I flew in my 6th and 7th weeks (just 2/3 hour flights) and was told by the dr's office to make sure not to dehydrate myself and get up and walk around about every 30 min.  I slept for some of the flights so I didn't walk every 30 min but I don't have a history of blood clots or anything.  I'm sure if you get up and walk around every few hours and be sure to keep your fluid intake high you'll be fine!

You're most welcome! If you ever need more help, we're glad to offer it. Your wife should be fine. Air travel won't make her miscarry. One thing I suggest is making sure she gets up every hour to stretch and walk about (if allowed) so she is more comfortable. That's the only thing you really need to worry about, really. Drink lots of water, too.

This is a public forum, not the doctor's forum. However, I can answer your question. Doctors advise to not travel after around 32 weeks pregnant because if your wife were to go into labor, she wouldn't have the medical intervention she'd need. But travel in the 2nd trimester is fine! In the USA, if you travel, you have to get some paperwork from your doctor in case something were to happen, you'd have your med records with you.

Just because you had a m/c once, doesn't mean you will again. If you are concerned with m/c, she can have her HCG and progesterone levels checked.
