I just saw an episode of The Doctors and they talked briefly about this subject. They said that if you are going to do it to wait until they are 2 months and vaccinated (like JoyRenee said). They also said that it is best to have their ears pierced first with gold because of all the metals is it the least irritating.
I think it's really cute to see little girls with ear rings, but that's just my personal opinion. Form of mutilation or not. They're only ear rings.
If I had a girl I would let them decide whether they want it done or not. I didn't get my done until I was 12 and my mother made sure I was old enough so I could take care of them myself.
i think it looks adorable and i want to do it but i dont know yet if i will or not....i have to have a daughter first i suppose lol ; ) i like the idea of doing it when their little so u can control the cleaning and so they dont mess with them but i also like the idea of them being able to choose weather or not they want their ears pierced. i got mine done in 4th grade for my 9th birthday. my mom asked me what i wanted for my birthday and i said i wanted my ears pierced so she said okay and we went to the mall and got them done...with my birth stones....i think just telling this story wants to make me wait just because i myself like the memory of when i went with my mom to get them done. i think id like my daughter to have an equally nice memory.
I agree with Tired.
Earpiercing is a form of body modification can there can be risks associated with it. My daughter will be the one to decide it she wants her ears pierced.
i think anytime you like, i've had my ears pierced since i was 4 months old.. dad said it was easier, because my sis had hers when she was 12, he said i forgot about the pain and he didnt have to worry about me playing with them, which came for no infections.. Its up to you really
ooo... i LIKE that idea a lot. I might steal it :)
