What have u given up to be a mom?

Today i had to trade in my car for a 'family' car. Mine was a 3door sports car and i loved it. Now i have a nice family car with 5doors which is way easier to get my little boy in and out of. And actualy fits his pram into boot. But i cld hav cried driven away and leavin my little red car behind. My bf thot i was silly but it honistly broke my heart. My aunty bot me my red car 3years ago and she passed away last year so now i feel like iv done somethng bad even tho i no she would want me to hav a car big anough for my little man. Hav any of u given up somethng tht made u sad?x

I had to get rid of my car my husband bought me as a surprise for valentines day last year, a dodge charger, it was beautiful :( I miss that car!  But it only fit 5, and there will be 6 of us now.  Not really a huge sacrafice compared to what I get in return.  We've had to make a gew sacrafices to have a big family, but its always been worth it!

Lol yea, everything did go a bit mental lol but i was so happy when the spca called me and told me he was adopted within less then a week. I miss my dog really much bt it makes me smile to know hes playing with the kids in his new family. And ive never seen my cats this affectionate ever before. They are both 3yrs old and acting like when they were 3weeks lol i worked as an optician and loved it! I love meeting all the nice, crazy and even mean people coming in everyday. It was just amazing, i could take the time with which patient and learn about them. Loved it! I was thinking of looking for a job in the same field in ottawa but i decided to apply after my maternity leave, in the government. Better pay, better benefits....may suck to be stuck inside a cubicle though lol no matter what i gave up, it will be all worth it when i can finally hold my son! Weve been trying for more then a year so we are very excited :)

As soon as we hit kid #3 we went and traded our brand new Chevy Cobalt for a Yukon with the 3rd row seat...My husband was the devastated one cuz he loved that little car. Now he has gotten to get himself a new Mustang and a 1989 Firebird that he's put like 10 grand into lol. I still have my pretty Yukon...were going this weekend to look at a brand new Silverado extended cab.
Can't ever have to many cars with kids lol.
Teabugsmommy...I feel you on the bathroom thing...I can't go pee without someone banging on the door.

Maybaby, ya its so true...priorities shift...we look so much more at the bigger picture now. I mean, our rental is really nice, and it would be so easy to go buy a new car and stay here, but we want our kids to have roots somewhere...so we put what would make a car pmt into our house fund...i wouldnt trade a thing ya know? I love my son and this baby so much. Ill do whatever it takes.

I'm gonna have to give up my truck which I absolutely love. Its only a 3 seater. When I got pregnant the first time I considered get rid of it then. But I didn't I figured I would make it work. Well now I'm pregnant again and now I don't really have a choice I'm gonna have to get rid of it. People have given me so much crap that I didn't get a mom vehicle the first time. U should see all the heads turn when i go somewhere. Me getting out of a big truck with a 4 month old. Lol i think its hilarious to see peoples faces. But I didn't think that just cause I was gonna be a mom didn't mean I had to get a mini van. But maybe now I can get an extended truck fingers crossed

For me its not any one big thing...its more all the little sacrifices on a daily basis. Ive always been a pretty frugal person to begin with, and never spent money extravagantly...but now instead of new clothes once a year, i push it back to two...and cutting back on the little girly things...a hair cut every 6 months instead of 3, going without new makeup so i can buy my son shoes, asking for a highchair for my son for my birthday, and putting bday money towards a toddler bed instead of the buying curtains for our bare windows lol. In the long run it doesnt matter, because it means my son is better cared for and loved, but its hard to look in the mirror and see old worn clothes, and drive an old pain in the butt to get in and out of truck instead of a family car. Im thankful the truck is paid for, and reliable, but still...for me its the daily small sacrifices. Im just thankful that all our bills are paid, on time, and we never ever go hungry...out cupboards are always full. We really are blessed more than most. And i know things wont always be this much of a struggle. Lol there will be a day we can afford cable and i can watch food network. For now we re all healthy and cared for. Thats all i can ask. And the day we get to sign papers on our own home, all the sacrifices will have paid off...and in the meantime, just knowing my son and this baby whoever it may benever lacks for anything, is reward enough.

I gave up softball after I became a mommy...when my hubby and I were first married I could still play my Tuesday and Thursday games plus weekend tournaments. But now with the hubbys work schedule and having a toddler and one on the way it just doesn't work out anymore...and I miss it and my team mates!

I had to give up my job early on too. I worked at sea world as an interactions photographer. It was amazing. I miss taking photos of dolphins and belugas all day! But being a mom will be worth it.

I gave up college when I got pregnant with my first because I was a single mom and had no support from anyone and had to work full time. But since me and baby daddy got together he has encouraged me to go back to school and now that we r married its been awesome he let me stay home with the kids and go to school :) so I didn't have to give it up for long

When I got engaged my parents sold their house and bought a bungalo big enough to build a custom appartment in the basement for my husband and I. We got to pick everything and I even drew up the floor plan. The bedroom was built to fit the furtinture we picked, my kitchen has a 12 door pantry and oak cabnitry, and my dad even built me a custom closet to fit my scrapbook hobby. Now that I am pregnant it is obvious that this appartment is too small but it makes me so sad to leave.

As weird as it may sound, my dr put me on sick leave very early in pregnancy and i had to give up my job :( i loved my job and now that weve moved far away i wont be able to go back either. I hate being home all day doing nothing. I try to kerp busy with arts and crafts and ive organized my little mans clothes like 50times by now! I also gave up my dog :( i cried for a week straight. But i know hes better where he is. We moved into an appt right in the middle of ottawa so we had no yard for him and with hubby working and baby on the way, we couldnt bring him out as much as i would of liked him to be out. Last news i got hes got a big yard to play in, a stay at home mom thats with him all the time with her new born, andbtwo young children who loves to play with him after school :) im happy for him. I know how much he loves kids!
