What now?

So I have had morning sickness 24 hours a day since 6 wks 0ds and I am now 8wks 6ds and haven't been able to stop throwing up for about a week my doctor prescribed me zophran and it doesn't work! I have tried everything from peppermint to ginger small bland meals it doesn't matter what I do I am just constantly sick. I work full time and when I am home I don't do anything but sleep. I don't have my first ob appt until the 23rd should I try to get in sooner to see if there is anything they can do or am I just stuck being completely miserable?

Also what are the chances I'm pregnant with twins since my symptoms are so bad? This is my first pregnancy (I'm only 19) and twins run in my hubby's family and there are a few in mine as well

I took fiber choice chewable fiber tablets in orange flavor. You can also get prenatal vitamins w stool softener in it.

I totally feel for you w morning sickness. I had it for 20 weeks couldn't even go to work it was awful the zofran did very little. Call your dr see if they can give you something else. My OB also recommended little sips of regular coca cola it helped some. I ate a lot of dry toast my first 20 weeks :( but it was worth it!!  My ob said the sips of coke is what worked for her and that it's a great sign that I had such morning sickness means hormones are doing their thing

Feel better. Mine was worse at night too it was the fatigue

I'm taking zofran as well. It seemed to work pretty good the first few weeks and now it does nothing. I have found that biscuits seem to help me. No butter or anything on them.  I'm 10wks 2 days now. I was very sick with my son as well and the only thing that helped then was the motion sickness bracelets. My dr at the time wouldn't give me any kinds of meds so that was my only relief :/ but it worked and it was better than nothing. They just look kinda silly but it's better than throwing up all day long.

I would try bananas. They worked for me. Good Luck and I hope you feel better.
I know this wouldn't make me feel better but my dr told me morning sickness is a great thing. It means your hormone levels are rising and everything is going along as it should be.

I'm currently 40 weeks and waiting for my little girl to finally grace us with her presence....but in the beginning, I had morning sickness until week 18 and it was miserable.  The first few weeks of it were the worst and their wasn't much that I could do for it.  What eventually worked for me, and it's going to sound wierd, is plain Lays potatoe chips.  Before i could even get out of bet to turn my alarm off, i had to have a single serving bag of them that i would leave by my nightstand....after that, i'd lay there another 5 or 10 minutes and then i'd get up.  I started drinking just water or gingerale, the kind made with real ginger as well.  Hard candies did help a bit also for me too.  I had to ALWAYS have something in my stomach to keep from yaking.  I had it worse in the evenings though so sometimes, it just had to come out.  Try the plain chips though, it was wonderful!  It didn't get rid of all the sickness but it at least made work manageable.

I have the same way with this pregnancy. I'm now 37 weeks and have not gained any weight my whole pregnancy because I have been so sick. Just hang in there and try to keep down some fluids. Also you can try sucking on hard candy or ice that seemed to help me.

I was the same with both of my pregnancies. My first was just 1 baby and i had all day morning sickness for the whole pregnancy :( I also tried the medicine and everything else but it didnt work. The only thing that seemed to help a little was saltine crackers. My second pregnancy was twins and the morning sickness was just the same!
I feel for you!! Keep trying different things, you might find something that helps. Hopefully yours will pass and not go throughout your pregnancy :)

Thank you! I don't like gatorade but I drink tons of water I work at a nursing home so I am on my feet for atleast 6 and a half hours a shift and I drink constantly while I'm at work. I just want it to pass I can't take it!! But as long as my baby comes out healthy that's all that matters (:

I feel for you! I had morning sickness like that with my first and it was horrible up until around 14 weeks. Call your dr and tell them the zofran isn't working and see if they want to try something else, although that's the best thing out there right now. Take small sips of gatorade or water and keep hydrated. Some women have hypermesis gravidarum and that's just a fancy name for non stop morning sickness. It sounds like that's the case for you. Good luck and I hope it passes soon!
