What to look for when feeling uterus? Cant tell...

Ive had a hard time telling the difference between my intestines/insides and my uterus...You know when your bloated your abdomin gets hard so i can never figure it out. Can you feel it better when standing? It seems harder when standing but then again i got gas and constipation too. Any advice? I guess i just dont know what to look for. Thanks..

do you really have to push your fingers in far to feel it? Or is it really close to the skin?

Your uterus should be just below your belly button and it will feel like a ridge across you stomach.  It should be a little bit harder below the ridge and softer as you reach past the ridge on top.  By 20 weeks, you should be able to find it around your belly button area.
