Yes, still take high fiber snacks!! Ive had stool softners with my 3 c-sections and still needed that extra fiber!! And fyi, the snacks are for after the first 24 hours, will be on a liquid diet the day of the surgery. I wasn't given food until the next morn. :-)

I myself will probably bring benefiber (the powder) to put in my drinks.  If I remember right I really wasn't feeling like eating much food to much my first day after surgey.  Lots of jostling of the stomach when they do the c-section. Lol

Yes still bring fiber.  I was on colace (a stool softener) after surgery for a week or so, and I STILL would have rather died than had a bm. Lol
Really we aren't trying to scare you, but seriously.... It s.ucks!!!!

Thank you everyone! I live in South Florida and pants are definitely out of thequestions for me but i think thats all i have that will be stretchy enough. My hospital makes you take stool softners do you think I should still take fiber bars with me? I have constpation problems with out being pregnant so now im worried about that... I'm so ready for this baby to be out but not so much for the things i need for her. ..ugh!!!

i can honestly say ive never heard of woman getting abdominal binders following a csection... must not do it around here?

Anyway i didnt have staples either i had disolvable stitches but that would be what the Dr preforming the csection prefers...

Anyway i am taking change/cash for snacks, vending machine, and parking... my nursing pillow, sleeping pillow, camera/charger, phone/charger, snacks/drinks, comfy clothes(and yes nothing that rubs at the incision line), slippers, make up, mirror, tweezers, facewash, lotion, bodywash, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush/toothpaste/floss,deoterant, brush, blow dryer(if you need to dry your hair) waterless shampoo(i wont be allowed to shower for a few days) but you can sprinkle baby powder in and brush it out and it does the same effect... but i found a yummy smelling kind at a hair salon... pads(but ill still use hospitals stock for the most part) breast pads,  and im gonna get my own disposable undies but again im gonna use hospital stock for what i can and last time they were not so easy to get from them... ear plugs(cause its constant noisy traffic at the hospital and if you have someone to watch the baby for sure get some sleep! (we dont have a nursery anymore so thats why i say if you have someone) and i got a pack of TENA brand bathroom wipes (we use them at work for peri care) they smell nice and clean really well... oh and remember to take a pen for filling out paper work, and anything to pass the time....magazines, books, crossword puzzles... my GF took her lab top and watched movies off it...

For babies diaper bag my list so far is diapers, wipes, vaseline, clothes, hat , socks, sucky/sucky clip, nail clippers, booger sucker, swaddle blankets, spit clothes, recieving blankets... most of this stuff you can use hospital supplies but i live away from the city so i want to be prepared :)

These lists are both in progress and im sure ill have missed stuff... this round i am packing more than i feel i will need just because last time i didnt and i  ran out of clean clothes, felt so grubby! and didnt pack for a csection so really didnt expect to be there for 3 days...

You can always pack early :-)  I've got all of my basics packed just in case (i have 18 days to go but I've been having contractions and losing my plug for about a week).
I'm waiting until the might before to pack my jammie pants, go home outfit, ect.

And I'm demanding an abdominal binder this time lol.  It's a different doctor and hospital so I shouldn't have a problem (plus I'm really bull headed).  My last c-section I asked for one multiple times every day, was told ,"ok", by my ob and like three different nurses and never got one.  I delivered at a hospital that was a satellite of the one I used to work at, I almost hopped on a computer and ordered one myself!  I just didn't want to explain why I www logged into the system while a patient.... Big no no lol

Fiber snacks and prune juice! Good idea, I have my csection scheduled on the 19th of June. 6 weeks away, do you think it's too early to pack some things in the car. Im so stressed about leaving my husband in charge of the house, our daughter, and two dogs. I feel like in gonna come home to a huge stressful mess.

I've delivered at 2 different hospital n both gave me a binder, but yet I've  had other friends from other areas that didn't get them!? I love em!! My first was staples that were taken out @ 2wks, but the last two were steri strips...those boogers itch like crazy after awhile!! Lol

They took my staples out early because they used derma bond with the staples.  So the staples were only there to ensure the glue stuck.  Then I got the stupid steri-strips lol.
Funny part is I let a student nurse take my staples out (they gotta learn somehow), and she hadn't even clamped onto the first staple and was so scared she was going to hurt me lol.

Mind you not every hospital will give you an abdominal binder (mine didn't), and your stay could be actually less than four days (i got my staples taken out and went home early my third day)

Elastic waist!!!! Lol, you will prob be given a belly wrap at the hospital that you wear under your clothes, which is kinda bulky, but very heplful!!! Makes moving around for that first week or so much easier!!.....as for what to pack in ur bag, take a big one!! Lol..you will need enough for the four days ur gonna stay..plus I always pack high fiber snacks n juice boxes, to help with that first bowel movement!! Ahhh!! ;-) I pack my own face cloth, normal toiletries, a robe, slippers, bras, magazines/books, phone n charger, hand cream ( to help with all the hand washing), I'm sure there is tons I'm 4 getting..won't be long n ill be packing my own!! I'll be having my 4th c-section in 9 wks!!!! Goodluck hun..:-)

I'm having my second c-section the 25th, and the one must have for me is granny panties.  The kind that come to your belly button lol. They're perfect for avoiding the healing wound and kinda help keep your belly in (just a tad)
any kind of comfy stretch pants that aren't low rise. Or even stretchy skirts. Other than that you should be fine :-)

I don't know how warm it will be where you are, but I wore a sundress, then for about a week-two weeks after I was wearing maternity jeans with the high belly band til it healed up some, so the top of my jeans didn't rub on the staples, good luck hun!
