When did you notice your belly drop?

Just curious when this happened for some of you and if you even noticed it. I really think my belly is much lower this week. With my son I didn't drop until closer to 36 weeks (and went into labor at 38 weeks. I am 30w 3d and my belly already seems lower. Can you drop pretty early and still go full term? Or do you typically drop closer to labor? I am on bedrest and my contractions have really slowed down the last two days, so I am happy about that. Just curious about when your belly drops and what exactly it means. Thanks!

I guess I will know next week when my midwife checks me. I will definitely mention it to her. My belly also feels much heavier now, maybe the baby went through a growth spurt...hopefully hasn't dropped yet. And yes, the contractions have slowed down, so that is definitely a positive!! I have faith that I can make it full term. I guess it can happen at any time, hopefully later though.

I think I read once that with each pregnancy you have, the baby typically tends to drop later..almost right before delivery or during delivery. With my last son, I was in labor for 5 days and he did not drop until the few seconds before he was born (then he flew down the birth canal and scared us all LOL)...I don't say that to scare you, as each woman and pregnancy is different! I would bring it up with your OB and keep an eye on it! As you said the contractions have slowed down and that is always a positive!!!
