When should I have a talk with my ob about the delivery of my baby? I'm 29 weeks and we haven't had this discussion yet... I've seen posts of people due the same time as me and already know when they'll be induced, have a c-section, etc... My baby has been measuring about a month ahead most of this pregnancy. And I'm really starting to wonder and am getting anxious about when and how I'll end up having her...

Yea my sister said she had went to the hospital at 37 weeks for bad headaches that wouldn't go away. So they asked her if she wanted to be induced since her baby was already over 8 lbs so she agreed to it. The friend, I'm not sure about.

I'm 30+2 and I deffinately want a natural birth, ( no c-section, induction ) I haven't spoke to my ob about it yet, but I will soon. unless its abs necessary, I don't want to be induced unless I go past 40 weeks.

Yeah that's silly to be induced for no reason! Stupid and not healthy actually so ask why they were induced so early!

I would ask your sister why she was induced, and if she knows why the friend was as well. Unless they were medically-warranted (pre-eclampsia, etc), and especially if he suggested doing so, I would start looking for a new doc ASAP!

I'd be highly worried of a doctor that tended to induce early without a valis medical reason, thats something you need to find out about sooner than later, do your birth plan, say you want induction to be left until 40 +9 as long as you and bub are both coping well and see what his reaction to that is, then you will know :)

Its just kind of scary since I have the same ob my sister had with her last pregnancy and he induced her at 37 weeks. She recently told me that and another friend also was induced early by him so it looks as if he loves to induce unless you don't want to be lol. I'm sure there were medical reasons for it though.

write yourself a birth plan and give it to him, if he's open to what you want thats great, if not you can find yourself another doctor who will fit into how you envisage your labour and birth going :)

Depending on the care provider you have chosen, s/he may just be assuming that you will be planning on a natural delivery, unless you go about 10 days over. Although alarmingly common, planning c-sections and early inductions are not a good idea so if I were you, I would be happy to know that your doctor isn't planning an early eviction. But, as Factorymomma said, you can bring it up whenever you like. If it turns out that your doctor has differing views from you, it gives you time to find a new doctor.

Just ask him, this isn't an unreasonable time, I mean there's never an unreasonable time but you know what I mean.

Girl I have had two babies this is my third, with.my first I had so.many issues they knew at 25 weeks I'd have to have a C-Section which we scheduled at 35 weeks to be at 38 weeks. He ended up being born via emergency C-Section at 36 weeks. My second my mom.brought it up.outta no where cause she was excited so we went ahead and set the date I was 22 weeks I believe, of course that was subject to change but it didn't. He was born at 39 weeks 2 days. This one I'd asked him several times and.my son is.measuring 3-4 weeks ahead too, we finally set it when I was about 30 weeks I think only cause I bugged him about it then explained we'd have to have my husband be able to have enough time to ask off. He's still measuring 3 weeks ahead and I'm 35 weeks 4 days tomorrow and I'm betting he'll come earlier due to.preterm labor issues I've had the past few weeks and how.much he's dropped (my belly button is almost facing the floor and standing straight up I can't see my belly past my boobs at all) he's huge!

Thank you! I really want a vaginal birth and rather not be induced unless its medically necessary.. Just didn't know the right time to bring those things up.

You can bring it up whenever you're comfortable :-).  You can ease into it each appointment by talking about pain relief during labor,  ect.  Or you can go in and say, this is my plan.  If out doesn't go like I want what are my options?
