Is brown spotting a pregnancy symptom?

My lmp was Oct. 4th. On day 21 of my cycle I began to see light brown, scanty spotting. I automatically got my hopes up that it was implantation bleeding. When it didn't stop, it started to worry me. I've had very minor "twinges" in my lower abdomen on and off. I've never needed more than one panty liner for the spotting. I was due for my period Nov. 3rd or 4th. I am now 1-2 days late and on day 13 of spotting. I've had irregular cycles before but nothing like this. Within the past few days, I've been getting headaches and my breasts are tender and I'm having pains in my lower back. I want to take a HPT but I'm nervous it will be neg. b/c my hubby and I have been trying for 3 1/2 years. I have a routine appt. with my OB Nov. 12th and am supposed to be scheduling a HSG as soon as my period arrives this month. This is all just making me really nervous! Has this happened to anyone else?

It's official... AF definitely arrived this morning. I had 14 days of spotting. I don't know what's going on! I'm guessing maybe I have a progesterone difficiency. I had my progesterone tested on the 26th and go back to the doctor Monday the 12th to find out the results. Hopefully I'll know more after that. =(

I am actually only 1-2 days late. My spotting started mid-cycle. That's why I decided to wait a few more days to test, just in case. I'm hoping to test by this Friday if AF hasn't arrived by then. You're right though... maybe I should just test now and get it over with! I've just heard that testing too early can give you a negative result even if you are pregnant.

i had spotting for four days and i'm pregnant.. just take a test. if you take the test one day after your period was due then it will tell you whether you are or not. and sounds like you are 13 days after? which should give you alot of hormone to show positive in the test then. at least you'll know then instead of stressing over it.
