anyone done delay cord clamping?

Ive heard its the next best thing to do if your not going to bank the cord blood. Is there really much of a difference? When did you ask your doctor. Is anyone else planning on doing this? How does it really work.

Google delayed cord clamping, twins, birth without fear to find the photo. It shows them with their placenta(s).

I'm doing it and did it with my daughter as well. There's a picture I saw (you might be able to Google it) of twins that were very similar in health and size. One had delayed clamping and cutting, the other did not. I kid you not, you can tell at a glance which one got more blood! So good for babies! (Plus there's the added benefit of keeping baby close to you those first several minutes!)

I have chosen to have delayed cord clamping it just means they don't cut the cord from the belly to the placenta until it stops pulsating as it only pulsates to pump all the good stuff into the baby so after birth if pulses for abit then the baby has gotten all the possible nutrients :)
