I hope they wouldn't induce if he's still high, good question! I'll be asking at my next appt!
Well where i live the docs dont let you go more than 41 weeks, then they plan induction or section whichever it may be...ill definitely know more wednesday at my next appointment though.
babyinJuly A lot of times babies don't engage till active labor is started with women that have children before. I know it seems like it would be the other way around but it isn't.
savanna09 I would hope they wouldn't try to induce till the baby is ready and engaged at least. Induction has better outcomes when the baby is in position.
Its just sooo frustrating!!! I thought something would be happening by now. I guess he is way to comfortable in there. Ive tried lots of safe methods to help the cervix/induce labor but nothing worked lol so I just gave up trying and decided to let nature take its course. My doc said she wouldnt let me go over 41 weeks, but will they induce if the baby is not engaged and cervix is still high?
My baby is still to high, only one cm dilated, and my cervix is to thick. That was my last appt on Thursday. I'm due in 4 days and she isn't checking me again til this Thursday, but i know I'm still carrying to high i can see it! She wants to induce when baby is lower and cervix is ready, due to medical reasons. This is baby number 5 you'd think things would happen much sooner but that just shows babies do what they want when they want! I'm hoping for a change but highly unlikely. I've done everything SAFE that can help my cervix get a jump on things and continue to do so but he doesn't wanna arrive just yet apparently!
I did not go through this but wanted to try and ease your mind. Babies are considered full term anytime between 37-42 weeks gestation. Each child is different and so is each woman's body. You may be one of the lucky ones that goes from 0 to 100% in just a few hours! Sometimes being checked like that can lead to anxiety and I just wanted to try and reassure you.
