Well every pregnancy is different. Just because you had morning sickness in one or two pregnancies doesn't mean you will in all pregnancies. Symptoms especially morning sickness does not usually occur until week 7. At 5 weeks 6 days it is still early to see anything. You can sometimes get lucky and see something. At that point i saw everything including a heartbeat but that is uncommon.

Spotting in early pregnancy can be normal but less normal is spotting and cramping. I would request a beta blood test and then a repeat beta blood test in 48hrs in order to see if your hcg levels are rising properly. Additionally it may not be a bad idea to have them check your progesterone level as well.

Probably a little early to see anything on the ultrasound.  Sometimes spotting in early pregnancy.   Every pregnancy is different.  Good luck to you.
