Did you save your placenta ? Because that's what they make the pills out of is your placenta, sounds gross I know lol but it helps prevent ppd and helps your milk come in, and if for some reason you can't breast feed and you still want your baby to get the same nutrients a lot of women donate breast milk, idk want you think of that but its a good alternative, but theres a "nursing station" at my hospital if you want to call them (970)298-2270 maybe they can help you out more?
Drink beer helps with producing milk :-)
Beer is definitely good for getting your milk to come on. Guinness is the best for it and I believe t he non-alcoholic beer works well to. Peppermint tea is also good to get your milk flowing.
I heard (don't know if it's true) thst drinking a beer after giving birth will speed up milk production and help it come in. Obviously don't make a habit of it because baby drinks what you do. My aunt swears by this.
Try mothers milk tea, you can buy it at the grocery store.
Delaina they didnt send me home with those they gave me a sheet with the lactation consultant # Thats pretty much it:/ they gave me lanolin for sore nipples but Thats it.
Ktowne i will def look into the gel pads and yes my sons pediatrician told me to do that when my milk comes in. I really wanna look into the placenta pills. I just want my milk to come for baby soon!
try soothie gels, its like a nipple pad with a gel-like pad on them that you can refrigerate, it works wonders!! its sold where lanolin is. also when your milk comes in express some milk and rub it on your nipple and let it air dry, it helps cracked nipples!
Awww yay! There are these cookies that they sell where I'm at that help, and the placenta pills are supposed to be really good for that too, ask your breast feeding people at the hospital they should have sent you home with a number for them
Okay i will def try that. He feeds every 2-3hrs. I just want my milk here already lol i use the lanolin but ouchh! There sore my right one is worse then the left and cracked:/
just let baby nurse lots!! my daughter nursed for 90% of the first few days and my milk was in within 2 days, let her nurse even if she isn't getting anything, the stimulation helps, and for the pain you can use soothie gels and lanolin for the pain. it is very sore the first week or so, but after that it doesn't hurt at all, also make sure baby is latching correctly with lots of areola or it will continue to hurt, a good latch is very important!
Yes on may 22:) Im still just giving the colostrum. The nurse said it takes 3-5days but is there anything i can do for my actual milk to come in. Tmi my nipples are Getting really sore and i already feel bad that my milk hasnt came in yet. Makes me feel discouraged.
