water breaking

Hey first time mommies, what did it feel like when your water was about to break? Like, how did you feel right before your water broke and how did it break, like what induced it to break?

Okay. I just checked it and its dilated to 1cm but im not in pain

Thats a question that im really not certain about. Ive never been able to feel my own cervix because mine is higher up and difficult to check by doctors. You should call ur doctor in the morning and ask. I woukd think that means it is beginning to change and dilate to prepare for labor. If your having a sharp pain, you may be dilating. Just be careful not to check too often, you dont want to introduce an infection now that your closer to labor.

My cervix is getting closer to the entrance of my vagina. I can stick my middle finger in it and feel my cervix. What does this mean? Im so sorry for the tmi

Oh I see. Sounds like your getting close though. I hope baby comes soon. Most FTM's end up going past their due dates by at least a week so try and be patient. Listen to your body, youll definitely know when its time. Take care :)

My due date was may 4th, i had 7 light but still painful contractions that got worse each time and im not even dilated to 1cm and i havent had any contractions today.

With my 1st, I was having contractions 8 hours before it broke. I went to the hospital and was only 2 cm so they sent me home and 7 hours later, my contractions were really bad and my water broke on my way out the door. My 2nd, no contractions at all. It just broke. Are u getting close to ur due date? :)

Oh okay. Did you have any contractions before it broke, like a day or two before?

No, i didnt have sharp pains. Yes it was clear. With my 2nd, my mucus plug came out at the same time my water broke so it was clear with a pink slimy glob of stuff srt tmi lol. It doesnt really have a smell at all either. After it broke, yes I was hurting because my contractions started right away.

Did you get sharp pains in that area and is it clear when it breaks and does it have a smell and did you start hurting after it broke?

With my first, I didnt have a feeling that it was going to happen. I just got up and felt a gush of water down my leg. With my 2nd, I felt like I had to pee, but my water broke when I sat down. Some ppl say they feel a "pop", but I never felt a pop. Just felt like i peed on myself.
