concerned about breastfeeding...

Hi I'm currently 38 weeks and 2 days. This is my first baby and I'm worried that I might not produce enough milk if any at all because I haven't lactated or anything...does that always happen before you have the baby?

Ur milk doesn't come til after u deliver and at first its just the colostrum the milk doesn't come in til a couple days after. Try not to worry or stress that ur not gonna produce enough cuz that can actually make it worse just try to relax and think positive and drink lots of water

I wouldn't worry about not lactating yet. Don't worry if u r planning on breast feeding ur baby talk to ur nurses when ur done having ur baby. They have lactationists who work at hospitals who will work with u. They helped me a lit with my first son. Be patient.

I did  not produce any during pregnancy and like Ktowne says it is not an indicator that you won't produce enough My little man is 1 month and i produce way to much i have lots to give away lol. If you do have trouble they have support people out there to help. I talk to my Lactation Consultant twice a week. And call her anytime i have questions.

I did not produce any with my first until I went into labor. Each woman is different

Not leaking colostrum isn't an indicator of if you'll produce enough milk or not at all. You're just lucky!
