Just a little scare

I am not sure yet how far along i am, i can't remember when my lmp was at all.  on tuesday i went to the health department and it was confimed that i am pregnant.  I have been having sharp pains on the lower sides of my abdomen that seem to get worse with the more activity that i do, so i went to the er they took my urine and blood test my hcg level is 1000 they said they couldn't confirm the pregnancy with an ultrasound though.  Not sure if i should be worried or not.  This will be my sixth pregnancy with only 3 children, its been awhile so im not really sure what to think or do.  I do know that i go back on monday so they can take my blood again and see if the hcg level has risen or if it is the same.

With a level of 1000, you would be very newly pregnant.  If you are able to make it to around 8 weeks or so, they should be able to give you a dating scan.  Don't stress because it isn't good for you.  If this was not a planned pregnancy, birth control or charting your menstrual cycles can help you avoid having intercourse on your most fertile days.
