cramping but no period

A little history: I had a D&C in November, turns out they didn't get all the tissue, so I had another in March.  Now it is all gone, since my HCG tested negative a week after the 2nd D&C.  But, it has been almost 8 weeks and still no period. The doctor said it would take 4-6 weeks.  My biggest concern is that I had one day of period like cramps 2 1/2 weeks ago, that my body was attempting the period then, and nothing came out.  No spotting or anything.  Now I think I could have Asherman's syndrome, which would be scaring built up in the uterus that would prevent my period from coming.  Any help?? My doctor is not available till Friday and I am confused and worried.

Thank you for your note.  The doctor has put me on provera to spur the period.  If it doesn't come, then we will look for scar tissue.  Hopefully this will do the trick!

It took me 8 weeks to get a period after my miscarriage. Your doctor said it would take 4-6 weeks on average. Some women get it sooner, some later. It is also possible to become pregnant before you ever get another period. And that's okay! It's not harmful or anything. Stressing about it can also cause you to miss your period.

I think if you don't have a period within a week, take a pregnancy test!
