Progesterone therapy

I had two recent miscarriages.  now pregnant again (only 5 weeks).  i called my OB for cramping.  she drew labs.  called that day to tell me my progesterone level was too low.  at this point i had cramps for about 3 days.  not anything really bad...just like mild period cramps.  she started me on Crinone 8% daily to supplement my progesterone.  My question is...Was this intervention enough to save the pregnancy?  Is my pregnancy still in jeopardy?  She said my hcg level was normal.  I'm just so worried that it's too late and i'll lose this pregnancy too.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?  Good or bad I just want to talk about it.  I have to wait until Thursday to test my blood levels again.  The wait is killing me!!!

Sarah- I am also 5 weeks ( and one day) and was put on progesterone. My HCG was also normal.  My progesterone was low so they put me on suppositories.  So far so good...I was spotting very lightly but that went away as soon as I took the medicine.  From what I've been told it is common to have low progesterone.  Apparently a lot of people have it.  The good news is they are giving us what we need.  The cramps are normal.  A lot of people have cramping when they first become preg.  Good luck to you!

Well the good part is that your HCG levels were normal.  I get weekly progestrone injections and they arent fun at all!  If she only put you on 8% Crinone to supplement I think that's a good sign as well b/c if you would've needed more she would've given you more.  I'm taking 250mg straight in the butt.  The bright side is the supplement may only be needed until the placenta becomes fully functional, and once that happens and the placenta creates enough progesrtone on it's on you may not need anything else.  So though it's easier said then done try not to worry.  They'll retest you in a few weeks to see where your levels are and probably take you off the Crinone all together.
