I tried to nurse my youngest two but I have a tough time of it...I have difficulty establishing a good milk supply and I have one inverted nipple which makes it hard...I'm gonna try again this time, BUT i'm also going to be prepared to combine formula AND breast milk. I too remember the soreness.. OUCH...but I'm determined to atleast give it another shot.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I pray I am like my mom. she never had a problem...but we'll see! I'm sure it was awesome for him to get strictly breast milk since he was a preemie. My little brother and sister were breastfed and were never sick until after a year old, and even then it wasn't anything more than a normal cold. Me on the other hand was bottle fed and had ear infections like you wouldn't believe...I was on antibiotics for half of my life and to this day my immune system is horrible! I hope everything goes well for you this time around! =)
Yes I used the lanolin creams, I used a product that looked like vaseline, everything i could think of. I think my major problem was b/c my son was so premature the ped told me to nurse as much as possible; basically anytime he wanted to eat let him. I was a walking talking milk machine. I even tried pumping so I could give him a bottle, but he didnt even want that. The positive thing is for those 1st 7mnths he never got sick, and he gained weight rapidly. So go ahead with the nursing it cant hurt at all!
I hear ya! My husband always rolls over on me!! lol. But I am always aware of it and just push him off...lol. I have a bassnet also, but only plan to use that when I am downstairs with the baby or when I go to my mom's. did you use breast cream when you nursed before? I sure hope I can do it!! I am determined to make it work...lol.
I'm trying to debate if I will go ahead and buy a car seat and stroller now. I plan on inviting alot of my mom's friends to the shower, and those old church going women like to get together and at least knock two of the "expensive" gifts off the registry. That's what they did for our wedding! My friends like to buy clothes and pampers and Lord knows I dont have a problem with that. I know for my boys I didnt have to buy one single thing for the 1st 8months.

I dont even want my husband in the bed half the time, so I know I dont plan on sleeping with the little one! He wants to get a bassinet as well, but I dont want him to get used to the baby sleeping in our room. He's trying to guilt me talking about I thought you were going to nurse the baby. I'm so nervous about breastfeeding, so I'm not sure if I will do it this time. The only memories I have is that it hurt so bad, and my nipples stayed chaffed (tmi I know).
my oldest used her crib constantly...my youngest two not so much. I stil have one of the cribs so i'll be using that, but since my youngest two still tend to sleep wtih us i'm thinking about getting a co sleeper for the first few months. The largest purchases I have to make are the co-sleeper, dresser, stroller and car seat. I'm probably not doing a changing table this time. It's just as easy to change em on the bed, couch or floor with a portable changing pad.
I'm due in april...still need to buy nursery furniture!! lol. I actually found a beautiful nursery set at target...can't wait to buy it! Our nursery theme is Classic Pooh. Too cute! We plan on using a co-sleeper for the first few months. (from what I hear it makes it easier to breastfeed in the middle of the night) also, I wouldn't want the baby in the bed with us only because I have heard too many horror stories and my husband is a sound sleeper!!
Good luck friday!! I had a crib with my son And I think he used it a total of 3 times and the rest of the time he was in our bed....But this time I really want to use the crib more....
LOL I know how you feel. Im gonna be buying tons of furniture in March. I should be around 6 months then, but my hunny is getting a large commission check, so I wanted to start on the nursery. I will be keeping all receipts though!
