Dispute on baby name help..

I have a question for anyone up to helping me with this issue...I'm pregnant but I don't know what I'm having yet...but i'm thining ahead..the problem is if its a boy my husband wants to name the baby after him...How do I tell him I don't want to?  I love my husband, but I don't like his name...I know that sounds TERRIBLE...but its Lawrence Gean Call...I call him Larry cause I hate Lawrence, lol, how do I tell him I don't wanna name our kid that and not hurt his feeling or crush his dreams??  I feel horrible for asking this..but I will feel worse if I named my kid Lawrence...sigh.

I hate when people do it also, my middle name is my mom's name. however I did tell my husband that if we have a boy i would give the baby his middle name bc its very rare, its LaPrell...he was named after his grandpa my husband name is Cody LaPrell so I told him that we could name our son something LaPrell but I like the name LaPrell u never hear it. but im like u , a first name aint happening!!!! and if i didnt like his name a middle name wouldnt happen either...its not mean but its ur kids name and its forever and you have to like it ya know.

lol...thank you so much for not making me feel weird.  I am hoping for girl simply because of the name issue, lol..I've never been found of parents that name their kids after themselves..I also hate when they do, do it..then refer to the child as Jr.  It erks me, lol..I don't like Lawrence and I don't like Jr.  I'm totally cool with a middle name after him...but I can't call my kid Lawrence, lol, its a terrible name in my opinion, eek!  If its a boy I'm gonna have to tell him no...I'm just trying to think of the nicest way to do that, cause your right...a name is forever.

Girl u gotta be strong about this because this ir your baby's name forever!!! I'm the same way when I got with my husband I told him that I will never name our kids after me or him so dont ask, now if u didnt tell him that from the beginning then you can say something like babe I know that you want to name him after you but I want him to have his own personalized name. Im not trying to hurt your feelings I just think that our kids should have their own name..however you could also like give the baby his own first name and maybe a middle after ur husband to comprise with him. I dont think ur awful for asking or not wanting to name him after ur husband. i dont do that either and i wont. maybe just hope for a girl!!! tell him you dont want to talk about names until we know what your having that way your not stressed out and it doesnt cause a problem if u think that it will by telling him no. hope this helps and stay strong and give your baby a name that means something because he or she will have it FOREVER!!~
