:( feeling hopeless

Anyone else really counting on tax season to buy your baby everything s/he needs? After quitting my job for not giving me breaks, I can't find a job to save my life now with this big ole belly. I just feel so hopeless, and I've never depended on anything so much in my life, but dang, tax season just needs to get here so I can stop worrying :(

My hubby and I are in the same boat he had to quit his job to stay with me because I an so high risk and we had to move in with his grandparents. They were gonna stay with me while he worked but proved to us that want going to happen he came home to me being put into an ambulance and being taken away. He had to stay with our daughter so he was not able to come along. So come tax season we will be moving and getting everything then. Until then I am putting some stuff on layaway at kmart to get or little guy since I am known to go into labor early.

Yu can still apply for unemployment....my mil quit her job because sh worked at a prison and they were giving her shitt about conversating with the inmates...she got denied. And appealed it n won...in yer situation they might approve yu because what they were doin is illegal. Its worth a try. Worst case senario they tell yu no but yu never know

I feel your pain. Because my work cut my hrs I dont even qualify for short term disability. So we are setting back money when we get our taxes so I can make my weekly car pmts. Giving the money to my Dad so we dont spend it. And we're prolly gonna have to do the same for other bills then use what we can to get Baby things.

I am definitely counting on my income tax to buy my babies needs. Thank goodness my mil gave us a crib and bassinet, that way we don't have to rely on the baby shower as much I'm hoping with both me and daddys tax return we can afford a stroller and car seat, baby tub, etc. Plus a deposit for new housing so we have room for baby. You're not the only one hun, since daddy lost his job were living off my $300 every 2 weeks, I feel bad I don't have anything for baby except for what was given to me. Just hoping for better days!

Well the income tax credit is over $3000 plus an additional $1000 for my son plus the money I would et back before that. So once you have your baby your taxes will go up. If I already had my daughter I would be getting per $8000.00. But I gotta get all new baby items, bills, clothes and everything for my son. So as soon as I get my money it's gone. I get my w-2 on jan 3 so I'm filing sometime that week and should get it back within the first 2 weeks of February

@ashleygibson, yes I'll shoot you a message!
@emmaftm I can't get unemployment because I left voluntarily, we don't qualify for food stamps because even if you live in a house with your parents and you're over age, they still count EVERYONE'S incomes in the household so that's a no-go, and the same with welfare.

I'll get back about 1,000 since I didn't count all of my tips this year, or else I would really be broke lol But that will give me the money to buy the stuff I really need. I know I'm just going to get the basic clothes, and not go all elaborate, and I need something for him to sleep in, the neighbor got an extra car seat at her baby shower, she she's selling me that and a swing and a ton of baby boy clothes for $60. And I'll have to get diapers and bottles and all that. I'm just so stressed but trying to stay positive, because a lot of people do it with much less than I have.

It all sounds very stressful and upsetting for u ladies :( i hope that everything comes through for u. Is there no benefits system in the USA? I know its not ideal but the money is for ur babies until u can get jobs. Im struggling here in the UK but im thanking god that my bf has managed to find another job after getting sacked, that has eased my worries alot. Also i get 9 months paid maternity leave from work, its not full pay and will only just cover our bills but my bf wages will pay everything else and the tax credits and child benefit will help too x

I quit my job also so I know how you feel about counting on income tax. I already have A 6 yr old son so I get the tax credit thankfully. I already calculated how much ill get back online so ill have enough for all my baby stuff I won't get from my baby shower plus bills etc

I know you can file early, but they take an extra couple hundred out. And being a waitress for most of this year, I really can't afford to even file early. But I'm due May 2nd, and most of my family live spread out across the nation, so my baby shower won't be much and I'm not involving my baby's father, so I don't have that financial help, and my mom is struggling herself, and for some reason WIC denied me when I went back after my class, so if for some reason my milk doesn't come in then I'm just screwed.

I'm already on maternity leave. I'm counting on it to carry me through the rest of my leave. If I really can get it in February and I get back as much as I think I will I should be able to afford to stay off work until April/may. Otherwise I have to go back in march. :(

I'm with you. Got laid off in Oct, can't find a new job, and they're fighting unemployment. I'm due Feb 13th, hoping taxes come in by then. Really frustrating. :(
