elective c section?

My doctor recommended it due to my hip problems. She said that there is no medical reason at this time but my healing time might actually be shorter with one. I was wondering if anyone else has elected to have one!? I'm really having a hard time deciding. Experiencing labor is obviously painful but I almost feel obligated.

She talked to me a lot and she wasn't one sided so it was really helpful. At this stage neither one seems to be risky for the baby which is my main concern. She said in Europe women with a higher income are doing it just as a trend. Haha I was just wondering if anyone else has elected to have one, because until she brought it up I had never heard or women doing that!

I have not had a c-section so I can't really help with that side of it, but I think if you prefer to go through vaginal labor as you stated, you should probably tell your doctor. Maybe you would be able to attempt labor but if you were unable to push with your hip problems, then instead have the c-section anyway. Either way, obs are usually very helpful so if you have any concerns, I'm sure they would be happy to talk through it with you. Good luck! =)
