this is an old post, but for anyone going through this, you're going to be googling everything and everything you can! I know! I'm doing it right now!

My Story:
I was supposed to be 16wks when I went in for a routine checkup, everything was perfect so far when she couldn't find a heartbeat on Doppler.
She then sent me for an emergency u/s and found baby had passed. Measuring only 2 days more than last u/s at 14wk 1day :(
We waited a week and decided to get induced and delivered him 2:18am September 12 2014 after 7-8hrs of labor.
He was perfect.
3 days later, I woke up in extreme pain and went to Dr. had to have an emergency d&c Sept 15th because of retained placenta. I stopped bleeding end of September.
it was exactly 28days after the d&c and I stared period oct. 13th (my birthday)
Still in agony over my loss, but happy the fact my period picked up where it left off, pregnancy test as of 2wks ago were Negative. Hopeful to try again.

It really depends on the amount of HCG in your system, Your body won't ovulate again until your HCG is back down to normal, and once you ovulate you'll get your period about two weeks later. I've had two miscarriages, and both times I got my first period again about 4-5 weeks after. However, some of the women on here have had to wait up to 8 weeks, so it really depends...

Sorry to hear about your loss!

I had a miscarriage on 12/2 (I was 16 weeks pregnant) and I just started my period today.  The weird thing is that usually I know when it's going to start, but this time I didn't get PMS so I wasn't sure.  Only one more cycle to go after this one and then we can try again.  :-)

I had a missed miscarriage at 6 weeks and had a natural miscarriage and everything passed and that was 12-12-07 - still no period - was told by my OB that I should get a period in 4 weeks - next Monday will be 3 weeks since the miscarriage - so I'm still waiting.

I miscarried at 6 weeks (missed miscarriage) and it took me six weeks to get my period. I've heard of people who have miscarried to go longer than even. It all just depends on your body and like the last 2 posters said you may want to get checked out to make sure everything passed.

i had a D&C due to a missed miscarriage on Dec. 10 and still have not had a period...after the D&C I was told by my MD that it would be from 5-6 weeks before I started a period.....not sure if the D&C is the same time frame as a natural miscarriage though.....like judylacar said, it might be a good idea to get checked out in case you didn't pass everything...but i might wait being it hasn't been 4 weeks yet since the miscarriage...how far along were you when you miscarried???  i'm sorry for your loss.

you should go back and make sure that everything has passed and passed naturally first. I have heard that some women's cycles get thrown way off track and are different from month to month. I know I am kinda waiting to see what happens, I m/c on 12/19.

Good luck and many prayers to you!
