fertility charting

Okay so this month was my first month trying the fertility charting thing. my temp was 97.2 yesterday and 97.8 today.
and  I have a question about cervical position. I got up this morning around 10ish and had the really stretchy mucus, egg whitish, and I checked my cervical position it was a lil higher then norm but not much, but 80% of it was really soft , not firm like it normally is. and I was all excited this was the first time I experienced this. well just out of curiosity i checked my cervical postion again this evening around 9pm and it was firm again. nothing like it was this morning.
SO my question is How long is it soft like that? hours? or what? I've had sex the last 3 days preparing for this moment and of course I did today but not till the hubby got home from work so it was like 6pm which was 8 hours after I felt the softness this morning. So  my question is did I miss my time frame to have sex?
and for future referance how long does the cervical softening normally last?

If you have, go in and put all of your temps in from day one.

If you look at my chart, you will see that it is telling me that my timing/odds was "low" chance of getting pregnant.  According to my chart, I had sex 1 dpo.  It goes based on all of the information I have put in that is specific to me.  You would have to do the same for yourself to get it to give you your odds.

I am having computer problems, so I think I am going to get off here.  I will check this in the morning incase you have any more questions.  If you set up a profile on MedHelp, you can private message me on here also.  But I think you have to have a basic profile set up first.

Good luck and enjoy FF.  I think you will be pleased.  Just make sure you enter your info. as accurately as possible.  The more accurate the info., the more accurate it will be for you.

Have you been charting yourself since the first day of your last period, or did you just start taking your temp randomly?

Sorry...Stupid computer just kicked me off the internet!!  Ahh!!

Anyway, if you go into the purple "Support" button on the left hand side, there is the forums/message boards.  It is similar to this.  When I look at my chart, it will let me know if I have a private message from someone.

Also go into "Set Up" I believe it is.  And make sure to set default info specific to yourself.  I actually just found that the other day and it actually caused my chart to change a little so it's important to put that in there.  It asks how long your period normally is and what time of day you take your temp, etc.  Fertility Friend will have a much clearer picture once you have one full cycle.  So, your doc probably told you this too, but you would chart from the day your period begins.

My cycles are normally 30 days long and that was my most fertile time.

There is a "Key/Legend" too that will help explain what everything means.  I really like it.  I have probably told you that like half a dozen times now.  LOL!

is there a way to add you as a friend on the site so I can look and compare our charts and maybe figure a few things out?

Oh yeah.  You will really like it.  It draws out the chart and everything for you.  I don't know what instructions your doctor gave you but I do know that you are suppose to take your temp at the same time everyday.  I even set an alarm on the weekend.  Taking your temp at different times will change them dramaticlly.  If you sign up in fertility friend and would like to take a look at my chart I'd be more than happy to give you my web address.  Actually, if you give me a minute, I will copy the address and paste it here.  You can just go to their website and paste my address in the top.  Then you can look at my chart.

Well, here is what I know.  The watery, stretchy (will stretch between 2 fingers 1 or more inches), EWCM (looks like raw eggwhites) is the most fertile and considered fertile CM.  Sperm can live in you for up to 5 days.  The fertile CM is special CM in that it helps and nourishes the sperm on its "journey".  So, I really think you will be good.  Charting will also help you figure out if you have a normal Luteal (sp??) phase.  That is the phase between ovulation and your period (if you didn't conceive).  It should be 14 to 16 days long.  If it is shorter, it may not give the egg a long enough period of time to implant itself into the uterus.  Oh, look at me go on and on.  Are you charting online?  If not, fertilityfriend.com is a good website.  You can chart for free and it gives tips everyday and FAQ.  It is very helpful.  There's even forums and message boards on there too.  I love it!!!

yes this is my first month charting and I've read alot of web sites. and  So i'm seeing these signs but I was worried I caught them all to late.
Feb 21 temp 97.4 cervix mid high firm, some cmit was   creamy like lotion. had sex.

Feb 22 temp was 97.2, cervix was  mid high still firm.  some stretchy mucus ( but not as much as the 23) had sex at 2pm this day.

Feb 23 temp 97.8 cervix was 80% soft ( mainly the top was really soft) lots of mucus had sex at 6pm and at 9pm cervix was firm again.

So thats why I'm thinking I missed my main time frame. Even tho I did have intercourse the day before I really would have like to hit that golden hour ya know?
My cycles are crazy one month they are 35 days , next month they may be 45  days and so my doc told me to do the charting to figure out my best ovulation time. so i'm trying to get all this figured out!!!!

Is this your first month to chart?  I actually use this as a method of NFP (Natural Family Planning) and I love it.  I started taking my temps in mid December but I was waiting on my period to start at that time.  I started 12-19 and started charting a full cycle at that point.  I am now almost through my 2nd cycle.  It is so interesting.  Who knew???  We have the most amazing bodies.  There is another poster on here who has read a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  She says it is wonderful.  She always posts great info.  I chart on Fertility Friend and learn something new all the time.

Good luck girl!!!  Sounds very promising!!!!  Tons of baby dust!!!

I chart also, but I don't check my cervix.  But if you have been having sex regularly while having the fertile CM, you should be good!!!!  Sounds like you may have hit your mark!!!  Good luck and I hope you get your BFP soon!!!
