fetal heart rate

I am 9 weeks pg and I have been able to find the baby's heart beat at home for a few days but my cheap little doppler is showing the heart rate to only be 104.  I feel like that is too low and I hope that it is just not picking it up all the way?  As soon as I can figure out the stop watch on my phone I'm going to count it myself but has anyone had any experiences with a low fetal heart rate?

Are you sure its not your heart rate that you're finding?

I agree with Amy..sometimes it can be mistaken in our own hr so make sure.

Can you find your own heart rate that low in your abdomen?  I don't think so because I will hear absolutely nothing but then when I move it to the right spot (and the same spot everyday) I can hear the heartbeat.  Unless maybe there is a major artery or something that I'm finding. I was able to get the stopwatch to work and counted the beats per minute several times and it was in the 120s like from 121 to 126 each time so i feel a little better about that but it still seems low.

The cheap dopplers are very unreliable.  U probably found yours.  The babys heartbeat will sound very fast like a little galloping horse and at nine weeks it will be right at your pubic bone usually in the middle.  Good luck.

9 Weeks is pretty early to find the heart beat on a doppler.its your heart beat that you're picking up. in a few Weeks you'll  be able to get your hb and the Babys at the same time, its pretty neat!

I wouldn't worry. It's probably just he quality of the Doppler :) I don't own one personally, but at my dr appt at 9 weeks her heartbeat was 184. Now at almost 23 weeks it's at 148.

I'm going to test it next time i do it and get my own heart beat on my chest and compare it to what I am hearing in my tummy.  Thanks ladies, as long as I can hear it I feel reassured, i need to quit looking for problems!!

Nine weeks is a little too early to hear the heartbeat on a doppler. Usually they wait until 12 weeks. So you probably are picking up your own heartbeat

i just wanted to say that you can absolutely 100% easily be picking up your own pulse... especially now that you have so much more blood flow down in that region, i have found my pulse lots before finding the babies so i know for a fact its possible...and yes there are major veins running all through your body...

hmm so how do you know the difference? Just the babies is faster than mine? I have an appointment on Thursday when I am 10 weeks exactly to find it, hopefully after they find it there I will be able to find the right one.

yes yours is slower, but if you hear one, feel for your pulse and see if it matches..
