first ob testing

At your first ob appt they draw blood and do a swab. What all are they testing for? Do they test for all STDs like hiv and the others and things like high blood sugar? Im a ftm and never really had that extensive of lab tests done before even though ive only had one sexual partner and dont have much to worry about

They haven't checked mine either.. totally glad because that would be weird lol.  I am 28+6.  So they might, or they might not.  They also don't take blood from me every appointment.  They only took blood at my first appointment and then again when I had my gestational diabetes test.

usually they check it when they do your first papsmear, but it varies with each OB/midwife.

at all of my appointments they take like 5 viles of blood, and make me pee in a cup. and then the standard blood pressure check and weight check. oh and they check your boobies for lumps and stuff. but the first one is when they do the swab to check for STDs and such.

Yup, every appointment they have me pee in a cup.  They test for proteins and to make sure you don't have a uti.

They test for all Std's, hiv, hepatitis.  They take blood to see what kind of blood you have.  I think they test your iron.  Make sure you ask what they test for when you go or when you see dr again, just to ease your curiousness lol.
