You only need to have a full bladder really early in for ultrasounds. You don't need to in later ultrasounds.
Don't drink what you're supposed to. It's wayyy too much. I was almost crying as I walked to the clinic from my car where I had to pee so much. It's only to have your bladder push the uterus up enough to see the baby, since your baby is still kind of small. It was terrible.
It depends on how your uterus is positioned. For some women, it doesn't help the ultrasound. But for those of us who have a "deep uterus" or a "tilted uterus" having a full bladder will help lift the uterus up into a position that helps the ultrasound technician get a better and more accurate heart beat and bone measurement. The ultrasound technician asks that all women come in with a full bladder because it is alot easier to empty your bladder then it is to fill it. Good luck sweets! =D
I went with my bladder FULL to the point i wanted to cry i was sure i would wet myself when she put the probe on my belly. She then made me go to the toilet 4 times as it was "too full" its meant to give them a clearer picture but i dont believe it. I didnt have any liquids at my 20 week scan or a scan i had at 22 weeks and images were perfect
It pushes your uterus up so the can see baby better.
