You're feeling a big vein of your own. That is why it is always in the same place. The baby is not only super small, but it is floating around in a sac of water, not sitting at the edge holding his heart up against the wall of the amniotic sac. It's your pulse.
that's what I figured was it was just our pulse we are feeling but it just seems so fast and steady and always in the same place
Baby's heartbeat is going to be very fast (mine averages at 158) and baby is a literal jelly bean right now. I had my first ultrasound at 10+3 and she was a literal jelly bean they had to zoom in on. It's not likely at this stage, but not entirely impossible? You're more likely picking up your own pulse.
