help!!!
Can i charge someone with attempted murder for saying they are going "to beat my pregnant ***" even if they havent touched me yet? my sisters boyfriend and his mom said it. They do drugs and he cheated on my sister so i went off then they said that.
U can report it to police department they can guide u in the right direction. Usually u have to have more then just a threat before they act upon it. They will highly recommend a restraining order.
U should of called the cops when they said that to you!incase so.something happens police knows were to look first. But u knowing ur pregnant and knowing the kind of ppl they are should stay far away from that drama. Hope everything goes good for you.
If you feel like you're in danger I would go to the police station like right now. And tell them what they told you and they can help you. They can either give you a restraining order for them to come nowhere near you or arrest them I'm not really sure. I never been in this situation but if someone threatned me and my unborn child that way I would talk to the cops asap. Please be safe mama I hope you and baby won't be harmed!
Im pretty sure there has to be an actual attempt on your life but you can probably get a restraining order.
Actually it is attempted murder if they would have touched me. I would not put my baby or myself in danger ever. I just found out he cheated on my sister i wrote him on facebook it was in the moment thing. All i said was stop coming back if youre going to keep cheating. Bc it really pissed me off.then these crackheads took it to a whole other level.
Attempted murder usually requires premeditation and a significant amount of harm. If he just pushed you around that would be battery not attempted murder

I was meaning attempted murder on my child not me. I dont go through stuff like this im never in drama so i dont know what to do
No she's right it could be considered attempted murder if they have the intent to kill you
In order for a person to be guilty of attempted murder, that person should have deliberately, intentionally or recklessly with extreme disregard for human life, attempted to kill someone. There should be some substantial step towards committing the crime.

MamMcAnulty yes you phrased it far better than I. However of that was the only threatening thing said its not directly threatening her life. I said " beat your pregnant a**" not "kill your pregnant a**" as for the baby I'm not sure... That might be a sticky situation depending upon if your state considers the baby to be a living person. Either way!... I'd report him he shouldn't be threatening anything

When you call them tell them someone threatened you... If its on Facebook take a picture of the post with your phone just in case they try to delete it
I already got a screenshot. I wasnt cussing,threatening him, nothing. I just told him to stop coming back if hes going to keep cheating on her. (Because hes done it before and when they are together he basically lives here) then he said that.
I dont think that you can charge them with anything for just saying it....but its def enough for a restraining order! If they actually hit you with the intent to harm your baby then they could be charged with attempted murder depending on the state.
Im in indiana and i just said attempted murder bc he said "pregnant" like he wanted to hurt my child. But i am talking to the police ill get a restraining order,anything that will protect my baby!!
Lol. Attempted murder. Not even close. Even for ur baby. They actually have to harm u n put the babys life in the balance for it to b able b called that. Meaning the baby has to b close to death or u. Other wise its just threats. Or if they did hit u but not put un ur unborn baby itb assult. There is Different degrees of assult n since ur preg they would come down harder on them but attempted murder....No lol

Im so tired of people like you trying to belittle everybody because they ask a question they are unsure about. You did not have to comment at all if youre just going to be rude. Like i said i do not deal with drama or police i didnt know, thats why i asked. I have heard of girls charging people with attempted murder for fighting them while they are pregnant because that IS putting the babies life in danger. I have all the info i need thanks to everyone else.
