Witch hazel pads can also be comforting in addition to Prep H cooling cream. Maybe sit on a pillow when they get really painful.
Oh lordy girl do I ever hear ya on that one. Try taking a stool softener. You can buy them over the counter at the drug store. Also when theyre really flaring up and hurting try sitting for a bit with your feet up. It helps take some of the pressure off. You can also sit on a heating pad or soak your bum in a bath of hot water. It helps relax them. And a hemorrhoid ointment applied directly on it helps too. Good luck.
