So.. im 17+2.. been bleedin alot so went to hospital early this morning.. everything was fine.. thus evening started cramping really bad from my lower back up my spine.. my cervix felt like they were burning. So i stuck my finger up there to see if i could feel why. Well, i could stick the top of my finger easily into the opening of my cervix... what does this mean?? I'm not bleeding bad anymore just spotting.. if i don't quit calling it will be back to the er in the morning.. i just don't know what my cervix would be like that???

That it could either be ligaments pains or some braxton hicks

Usually placenta previa doesn't cause such severe cramping or really any pain... Did they say it was the cause or what the bleeding was from?

I agree, never check yourself for dilation - namely because most women don't know what they're looking for and it can cause more harm than good. It's possible you are dilating, but you need to have your doctor do that when you see them.

If u have placenta previa.and if.i recall right u do.i wouldnt stick.anything up there!!! It can cause bleeding! That is why they say no sex...u dont want to irritate ur cervix...

Idk.. they just have a burning sensation... i was induced with my daughter because of complications.. i wouldn't dialate no matter what they did.. after 14 hard hours of labor i made it to 2.5cm but only on the outside.. so that ended in an emergency csec because she stated following into distress with each contraction.. my son was an emergency csec also due to different complications.. so i don't really know what it feels like to be dialated

Could it be that your cervix is opened a little, did they check it? And you may not want to stick your finger up there again....be as careful as possible....even when getting up out of bed...

You can walk around dilated for months without delivering. 17 weeks seems a little early for dilation but maybe call your ob and see what they say. Glad everything's ok with your lo.
