hpv and pregnancy... worried

I think I have HPV. I am 33 weeks pregnant and I have noticed bumps on my tongue. Nothing on my vagina. My midwife won't don't a pap smear until I am 6 weeks postpartum. This whole thing has been bugging me for a while. I want to breastfed but don't want to until I find out if I have HPV. Because if I breastfed and have hpv then my baby could catch it. I truly don't want that at all. I am a hypochondriac and I always check into everything regarding my health. Do any of you have small bumps on your tongue?????? They're on the tip of my tongue and the back of my tongue. Nothing in the middle.

*when I first met my husband we were both checked and we both had nothing. But to futher investigation men don't have a test to show they have hpv. They can be carriers for years and show no signs and give it to woman who's bodies start showing signs within weeks to months of being infected.

*one thing that gets to me is knowing I only have bumps on my tongue and none showing on the outside of my vagina. IM LOSING MY MIND!

I got paps every 6 months because i had cancer cells on my cervix and they wanted to monitor it. I went in and got tested again my test results came back that it was gone. HVP goes away on its own i  most cases. It doesn't cause health problems. I never noticed it. Hell i didn't even know until i got my routine check up. I go through Cleveland Clinic. My doctor saved my grannys life, birthed me and my brother and is now going to birth my first child. I trust him with my life :).

Yes two years! When I lived in Arizona it was once a year. Now that I moved here to Georgia they said it is every two years. And a dentist doesn't sound like a bad idea. I am driving myself insane with this. I don't want hpv.

Yeah, hmm maybe just check up with your regular doctor so he can examine your mouth or maybe a dentist?

Wow, 2 years? They should do one every year. Thats what my doc does. Maybe you should switch doctors. If you're turly concerned and they aren't working with you, thats unprofessional.

I looked it up. It says women who have hpv cannot breastfeed. Because the virus is in her body and the baby can catch it.
I use to drink hot teas all the time. But since I've become pregnant and green tea is on the no consumption list I stopped drinking tea. But even if that could be it.. shouldn't these bumps have gone away by now?

I looked it up. There is no blood testing for hpv. Only a cervical test (pap smear) my doctor didn't do a pap smear because I had one done two years ago with her office and showed no signs. Since I've been with the same guy for years and we always wore protection during sex until we decided to get pregnant. I asked her if I can get and sled papsmear done since I noticed bumps on my tongue in May and she said that papsmear always come back abnormal in pregnancies and even if they did do one they couldn't treat me for anything. My concerns are going unnoticed and I feel beyond frustrated. I look up hpv on the tongue and my tongue doesn't look like it has warts. It just has small smooth round bumps all over my tongue. The tip and the back that is.. first time I ever noticed it and now I can't remember how my tongue use to look.

P.s i never had bumps on my tongue. Have you ate food high in acid lately or maybe had a cold? Ate something that burned your mouth like hot soup or coffee?

I had hpv. 80% of women and teen girls have it without knowing even if they arent sexually active. You can be born with it or catch it. Its not dangerous in most cases. It can cause cervical cancer or turn into genital warts (in extreme cases) but the only way to know you have it is a pap, hpv has no symptoms. You can still breast feed too lol. You cant breast feed if you have HIV/AIDS :) you and your baby will be fine.

You can request a pap smear and they can't refuse you. But HPV would have shown up in your comprehensive blood screening, I'm sure.
