Rude mother in law
My mother in law called to check on me. Ended up talking about baby names she asked what names I have I said girl khloe & boy unsure she immediately stopped me & said oh hell no your not giving my grandbaby a white name you got me f$&#ed up. Im mexican & my husband is black/white (adopted) sorry im just venting her comments irritate me!!!!
Lol, post like this make me grateful for my MIL. She is the sweetest lady and we get along great, she never intrudes but loves to spend time with her grandson. With this pregnancy she's been great too. But my mom's MIL (so my step-dad's mom) is a crazy b*%ch who talks stuff about people all the time and used to tell my brother (at age 8!) that he was fat and lazy, so I feel for all you women with crazy MILs.
I agree with every one, just tell her its not her choice to make and she needs to stop telling u how to think. I have a simmilar issue, its MY mom and dad rather than my mother-in-law. they dont like most of the names my husband and I pick out, boy or girl and if its a name my husband picked out himself they absolutly hate them and try to say he cant name our own baby, like he has no choice in naming his own child. I just tell my parents we like them and they will stay on our list till he and I (ONLY) make the final decision when we have it.
Mine didn't like the name we picked out, she just kept saying it sounds like a last name-- But she named my husband a family last name for his first and her maiden name for his middle!!!... And one that no one can spell and no one has heard of on top of that!! Haha I think mother in laws just like being in control and when it comes to their son, their new wife kinda takes their place. It's hard for them to deal with. Name that baby whatever you want to and don't worry about her! Lol I love the name khloe!
Thats funny my girls names are kayla kira and khloe and they are all black, I never thought that they were white names lol they just fit them when they were born mil is crazy lol
Omg right! I always ask her that. Like what exactly do you mean by "white" name. So stupid. Dont you just HATE HOW THEY TELL YOU HOW TO RAISE YOUR KIDS BUT SINCE YOU LIVE WITH HER CHILD YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL HER . HER KID NEEDS IMPROVEMENT HAHAHA
From my experience, black names are just made-up sounding anyway (like Zay'Marion or Shaniqua, lol). I agree with KTowne, whether you are white or black doesn't mean you should have a "black" or "white" name, because a name is just a name. I dated a black guy named Donald once, he was perfectly normal even though he had a "white" name. If you like Khloe then go for it! Plus, your MIL sounds like a really ignorant person, "might as well name her tortilla.." Seriously?!? How childish and racist is that!? Considering her attitude and closed-mindedness I would not take anything she says seriously.

I think Khloe is pretty. I get these comments from all my family members. My hubby is hispanic & they tell me that's not a hispanic name. I tell them its out decision so they better get over it!
Ugh my mother in law is a beach sometimes.....she's gossip queen so flipping annoying..... i was going to let her in the room with this baby delivery but she has me so frustrated i don't want her there:/
Okay, what is a "white" name, I've also heard Dameon is a "black" name, and it didn't phase me... there is NO such thing as white and black names, so tell her to kiss it! I think it's BEAUTIFUL! I love it!

I wouldn't tell anyone what y'all do decide. Tell everyone its a surprise. That way nobody can say crap bc the child is names by time anyone sees her.

Same thing hAppened to me!!! Every time she calls me we end up taking about baby names. Me and my husband were sure that we were naming her Isabella and she made a big fuss about it!! Ugh mother in laws lol
You name her what you want! She might be her "grandbaby" but she's your DAUGHTER! She sounds like my bfs mom she talks about her grandbaby like its HER baby ughh it annoys me lol. She also doesn't like the name I picked for my daughter and alwayss refers to her by a different name its so rude
