birth control after pregnancy

I am 2 weeks postpartum. I have a doctor appointment on Tuesday,  I want to discuss birth control options with my doctor. Does anyone have good recommendations for birth control? No mirena. I had it once and had to get it surgically removed. Anything else that works good?

The depo shot. Get it only 4 times a year. I hate needles but this one I didn't even feel

Do you gain any weight from it? I had it when I was 14 and gained 40 lbs but maybe it was just my hormones from puberty

I never did. I stayed around the same weight.

My doctor told me they no longer do the shot ? Because that's what I wanted to get I'm not really good at remembering things' he said I'd have to get something different

I personally loved the implanon. Tiny rod that is inserted in the fatty tissue of the back of your arm. Good for three years. Safe for breastfeeding ( y I chose it) that and it wasnt a pill. And all bc have side effects juat depends how that particular one affects you. Weather weight gain no more periods mood swings headaches lighter or heavier periods. etc These are all common side effects of bc. Just depends how your body reacts to it.
