induction

Any that's been induced before could I hear experiences? I'm scheduled for an induction on Friday and Im kinda freaking out a little. How many ended with a c section, and how long was labor? I really don't want a c section. I'm scared that I will end up being in labor for days and then end up with a c section

When I went in to be induced with my daughter, I was BARELY a cm dilated. My labor lasted 19 1/2 hours. After they broke my water, my uterus fell over to the side and I was only dilating on one side. My Dr told me we may have to do a c section, my nurse ( who knew I didn't want ancient section) then proceeds to wait til the Dr leaves, close the door behind him, puts on a glove that goes up to her shoulder and says "we aren't leaving this room until we have a baby." I was terrified, luckily I had a good epidural, because she had me pushing from 3 cm and was MANUALLY dilating the other side.of my cervix!! Sounds awful,  wasn't fun....but about 2 hours later I gave birth to a perfect, gorgeous 6 lb 9 oz baby girl! :) thank God for Rambo nurse (as we called her) for saving me from a c section!

I was induced with both of my children, in 2004...I was completely satisfied! It was all planed I had everything ready, I woke up, went to the hospital and had a baby. There was no "middle of the night" trips to the hospital, well rested. I had patosine which jump started my labor then they broke my water. My first labor was 4 and a half hours my second labor was 3 and a half. I am now 18 weeks prago wroth my third baby and I have already discussed induction with my obgyn, I would not have it any other way!

I don't have an induction story because my son came on his own at 37 weeks. But, I wanted to just try and encourage you a little. Fear can cause tension and perhaps trouble. Try and envision the best possible scenario. Concentrate on the fact that you will be holding your child within days! That is really exciting. I'm sure your medical team will do their best to work with your body. Trust your body to do what it was designed to do (even if you are getting a little help from modern medicine). Spend these next few hours relaxing as much as possible...sleep. Your baby is coming right before Mother's Day! How sweet.Best wishes!

I think Im suppose to get cervadail....when I went to the Dr last week I hadn't dilated or anything. Maybe when I go in Thursday I will have dilated a little so I want have to wait for the pill to work. They can just start the pitocin. I'm so nervous, but Im really ready to see my baby! I hope everything goes well.

I just had my baby 5 days ago and was induced. She is my first baby and the experience was wonderful. I'd do it all over again tomorrow. I was already dilated to a 3 and 70% when I went in. They started me on pitocen at 8:15 pm and gave me my epidural. Then they inserted my catheter and broke my water.  I had her at 2:33 am. It went super fast and was painless :)

I was induced with my 1st son 2 days before my due date and I was in labor for only 5 hrs! and for the first 3 hrs I did it naturally but the last 2 I needed the epidural because they wouldn't let me off my back at all so I gave in and got the epidural and the last 2 hrs flew by so fast because all I felt was pressure and the doc came in said "its time to push" and then baby boy was born!

I had to be induced with my daughter when I was pregnant with her. I was a week overdue, and my body was still not showing signs of labor. My daughter was already nearly 21 inches long and almost 8lbs so my doctor chose this for me so I would not have to go through a c section. It wasn't scary at all really. I went into the hospital the night before where they put some form of pill in my cervix to soften it up, then the next morning they broke my water to get the action going. My delivery wound up being fast after that, and thanks to the epidural, I was actually laughing during it. Zero pain whatsoever. Don't worry, I'm sure you will be fine as well!

I was induced two weeks ago with my daughter. I was already at a two and thinned out so I didn't need the pill. I went in Monday morning at 6 and they started the pitocin at 1030. Stopped it at 6 Monday night so I could eat. Started again Tuesday at 6am, they broke my water at 1pm and she was born at 558 Tuesday evening.

My induction wasnt a pleasant experience but it was because my daughter wasnt positioned very nice and was stuck... so mine did end in a Csection...

Anyway even at the worst that it was... it didnt kill me and it never lasts forever! I was given cervadil at first to get me started and about 12 hours later it started to cause me to dialate... which is why lots of moms are sent home after recieving it to wait for it to kick in and some recieve a few rounds of it (every 12 hours) so anyway i didnt get another round of it cause for the whole time i was having back to back contractions... then 4 hours after that i hit 4 cm and went to labour and deilvery and i did get an epideral... it took away every last bit of pain and was such a relief! it was awesome! then id say 5 or so hours later? maybe more i was started on pitocin cause id stopped at 7 and sometime in there they broke my water too.... but anyway in the end she never dropped, her head was face up, arched back and was in the 95 percentile size range... she was 9lbs 2 ounces and i had my csection.... i never experienced any pain from it at all and i was constantly getting up and having to go to the NICU everytime my daughter woke up(she had meconium and gunk in her lungs)  to nurse her so i didnt get much rest at all right from the start and i wouldnt have known i just had major surgery.... im going for an elected csection this round...

I had induction with my first. I was already having contractions I was given Pitocin to help to speed up my labor. I did it naturally with no pain meds. I gave birth 5 or 6 hours later to a healthy baby boy. I was scared at first because I didn't know what to expect. The contractions came fast so I'm not going to lie it does hurt, but I kept saying 1 step closer to seeing my baby which kept me motivated to do it naturally.
