iron supplents

I feel ill everytime i take my iron pills, the first few days i was alright but now im getting diarrhea and wanting to vomit. I even take them with food. Im 30weeks pregnant, my csection is 8 weeks away and im severly anemic, i HAVE to get my iron up before surgery and i cant stop taking it. It just makes me feel so ill the last few times.

I have zofran...i totally forgot i had it. Thats a great idea! I have an appointment on wed so ill get them refilled. Ive tried everything else and it makes it hard to eat like today i only ate a half of bagel and didnt eat again until all the nausea went away at like 11pm.

try taking your iron with orange juice. it helps your body break down the iron supplement and process them as if you were eating iron via red meat, etc.

I also take them I am 37 weeks and due to extreme morning sickness I take nausea medicine called Zofran. If the alternate iron pills still make u sick which most will ask ur dr about nausea medicine! Its the only thing that helps me!

I'm also 30 weeks pregnant and taking iron pills. My dr also prescribed me pills to help me go to the rr because supposedly iron pills get u constipated but i always go to the rr normal and I tend to get naseous everytime I drink them. I'm guessing its normal but ift anything u can always call ur dr and let them know

Find out if the doctor can get you some other kind of iron supplement.  You can even get iron shots, though I don't recommend them.
